Today, In every corner of Christianity, people worship the Blessed Sacrament receive the blessing from the priest. Because we celebrate Corpus Christi, the body and blood of Jesus Christ. We celebrate and adore the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Also, Corpus Christi reminds us that The Eucharist is our Spiritual treasure. We have a treasure in catholic church. On this feast we are called to deepen our faith in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Every Sunday we receive this treasure, the body of Christ, and when the priest or the minister says : The body of Christ . We respond : Amen. That means that we accept and we believe that Jesus is present in the Eucharist and what we receive , it is Jesus, his body and blood. We receive his divinity, his soul,….. This is my body. This is the Jesus who opened the eyes of the blind man. This is Jesus who changed the water into wine. This is Jesus who fed thousand of the people in desert….
This is the Body of Christ. This is the one who wept for us. And who died for us. And who rose for us. This is the Body of Christ, Jesus is saying : This is me. I give you my divinity, my soul, my heart. This is my body. So, each time we receive the Eucharist, I exhort you to remember Jesus said at last supper, what : This is my body. Brothers and sisters, we are privileged to receive God in our hand. We are privileged to receive the eternal life: Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life. Through the Eucharist, Christ communicates with us his life, we become a member of the Body of Christ. We unite with Christ. We enter in communion with Christ. If we receive the body and blood of Christ, we need to be in communion with Christ and with our brothers and sisters. Otherwise we live in contradiction with the Eucharist.
If you want to deepen your faith in the real presence of Jesus, I invite you to the Eucharistic Adoration on Friday. Every Friday, we have adoration from 7:00am in the morning till 5:15pm. If you want to deep your faith in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, I recommend you to attend daily Mass and read the gospel according Saint John, chapter 6. May Jesus in the Eucharist always be the very center and heart of our church, the center and heart of our faith, the center and heart of the lives of each of us.
