My Favorite Part of Being Stewardship Minister

My favorite part of being Stewardship Minister at Sts. Joseph and Paul is You, the parishioners! You are more fun and fulfilling than budgets, parking lot projects, home raffles, and even bulletin articles! I am thankful every day to be able to worship and work in a place where I’m surrounded by those who love their church and are so generous with their time, prayers, talents, treasure and hearts! Today and next Sunday we are celebrating Stewardship and the many gifts of time and talent that are given by the parishioners of Sts. Joseph and Paul! We are not only having a witness talk from a couple about what stewardship means to them, but are also displaying banners in the processional that showcase the many areas where we see parishioners being disciples through their gifts of time and talent. We want to celebrate the people in our parish and the gifts they have to offer!  It is also the time of year that we ask each family to prayerfully recommit to serving in our church by completing the stewardship form. Each family has a Stewardship packet that includes: a new ministry guide and parish directory, an updated stewardship form to be turned in next Sunday, April 30th during the offertory, and a letter from Fr. Carl. Pray and talk it over with your family and have each person think of what gifts God has given them and how they can share that with others and our parish. What talents do you feel God has blessed you with, that you can bless others with? What gifts are you hiding under a bushel basket?  One of my favorite quotes about sharing time and talent is from Erma Bombeck, a writer and humorist who said, When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything you gave me.”  Look around church and parish events and see what wonderful deeds your fellow parishioners are doing. Take a few minutes to express your appreciation to others and pray for our continued success in building God’s kingdom by making disciples!
Thank you from the bottom of my very full heart for all that you do!
