Baptism

Jesus was baptized and taught his Apostles to do likewise. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God. We become members of the Body of Christ as we are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission. We can’t wait to welcome your child into the life of Christ and our Church through Baptism. The celebration of infant baptism can take place during or  immediately following Saturday or Sunday Mass.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is about the mercy of Jesus Christ. Honestly confessing our sins reconciles us to God and restores us to his grace and intimate friendship. Confession breaks the power of shame and hurt of sin, and restores and revitalizes our relationships within the community of faith in the life of our Church.

Reconciliation is celebrated communally at Sts. Joseph and Paul during Advent and Lent. Reconciliation is also scheduled Thursdays at 12 noon and 6 pm or anytime by appointment by contacting either Fr. Jean-Rene Kalombo  at 270-683-5641 ext. 222 or by email at frjrkalombosjpc@gmail.com

First Reconciliation is celebrated prior to a child receiving First Eucharist.

Eucharist

The Sacrament of the Eucharist is a prayer of Thanksgiving through which Christ becomes present to nourish the faithful and is the source and summit of the Christian life. When we faithfully receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, we grow deeper in communion with God and fellowship with one another

The mass schedule at Sts. Joseph and Paul are M-F at 5:30 p.m., Sat. at 4:00 p.m., and Sun. at 8 am, 10 am, and 6 pm. Hispanic Mass is celebrated on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday at 12 noon. We celebrate First Eucharist on a Sunday following Easter each year with children in the 2nd grade.

Confirmation

Receive the Holy Spirit. Confirmation strengthens the commitment to Christ made at baptism by sealing the newly confirmed with the Holy Spirit. Confirmation enables the faithful to grow as mature disciples of Christ in the life of the Church. This sacrament is celebrated in the 7th or 8th grade or at the Easter Vigil.

Marriage

Congratulations on your engagement!

The Bible describes God’s plan for marriage as a grace for a happy life and sign of Christ’s faithful and fruitful love for his Bride, the Church. We are thrilled for you to grow in this love and understanding but also realize that this is one of the most exciting (and hectic) seasons in your life. Let us help you get ready not just for a wedding day but a lifetime of love together.

Anointing of the Sick

Jesus showed compassion toward the sick and suffering. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick extends God’s grace of spiritual strength, peace, and courage to overcome the difficulties that go with facing a serious health challenge or advanced age.  Anointing of the Sick is celebrated the first Friday of each month at the 5:30 pm Mass, communally 2-3 times per year and upon request at any time. Holy Orders

Since the time of the Apostles, Christ has personally called forth some men to dedicate their lives ministering to the People of God in the service of the Church as a priest.

The Sacrament of Holy Orders consecrates Christian men in service to God. These servants of the Church are blessed with spiritual power and grace that enable them to proclaim the message of God’s love, to lead and govern the Christian community, and to reach out in service to the world.
