Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church – Parish Goals and Objectives

1.  To be a universal Catholic community living God’s mission.

A series of formational events for the entire parish in Spanish and English defining what it means to be evangelizers and a missionary church in the local Church.

Annual mission trips for adults and youth.

Teaching and discussion on Catholic morality.

Encourage, promote and make accessible catholic education for all parish children (requires Episcopal leadership).

2.  To revitalize and strengthen our open hearts and faith in each other.

Continue to encourage the full, active, conscious participation in the Mass with people of all situations in life, including, but not limited to: youth, singles, elderly, married, disabled, prisoners, and victims of tragedies.

Work for increased participation in personal and community prayer, small faith sharing groups and Eucharistic devotion within every group of the parish family.

Seek out a better understanding of common Christian traditions among denominations within the community/county through participation in interfaith events.

3.  To remember the missionary zeal of the Eucharist.

Promote Sunday Mass, daily Mass, Eucharistic Adoration and Holy Days through the parish bulletin, website, families, committees and parishioners.

Have a teachable moment at Sunday Mass and let people know why we do what we do as Catholics and connect it to the living out of true Christian charity.

Incorporate a “Dry Mass” and trivia on the Eucharist and Church into a Faith Formation evening to lead people to excitement of the Celebration of the Eucharist.

Host retreats and days of reflection that focus on the Eucharist as the Body of Christ and how it enables us to build the Kingdom of God in our daily lives.
